Yoga
for Life was designed to be different than other traditional
hot yoga studios. The focus of the architectural design, by renowned
Seattle
architect John Fleming, was to create a sense of space,
serenity and fun, while maximizing space for yoga practice. Inside
the studio you will find maximized natural light and abundant fresh,
oxygenated air; energy-efficient and electronically-stabilized heating
and humidification, and anti-microbial, slip-resistant rubber flooring.
As
a Hot Yoga studio, energy efficiency becomes a key component of
mechanical systems and operations. Our studio utilizes a combination
of a traditional heat-pump system and a radiant heating system.
The mechanical system was designed to bring in 500 cubic feet of
freshly oxygenated air per minute into the studio to keep the breathing
air for students fresh and energizing. Ideal
humidity levels of the studio are digitally controlled based on
external air temperature and relative humidity, and are connected
to the heat pump system. That way teachers spend less time closing
and opening doors and more time on attending students. The studio
has anti-microbial, slip resistant rubber flooring with adequate
cushion that creates a firm, yet comfortable ground for your practice.
